Creatively collaborating since 2001, April Clark and Ed Richardson formed the architecture firm Clark | Richardson Architects in 2009 with the goal of creating elegant experiences through form, sustainability and detail. C|R specializes in sustainable residential and commercial design.
C|R provides services for New Commercial Design and Renovation, Commercial infill and Single Family Residential Design and Renovation, Master Planning for both commercial and residential developments and Sustainability Consulting. April has over 13 years of professional experience in architecture and design. She has designed award winning residential, commercial and institutional projects ranging in scale from large campus projects to smaller single building and residential projects. April’s research and experience in sustainable design has been published internationally. Previous commercial and institutional clients have included the University of New Mexico, Institute of American Indian Arts and Girls Inc.
In Santa Fe, April worked with Ed Mazria where she helped launch Architecture 2030.org. 2030's mission is to transform the Building Sector from being the major contributor of greenhouse gas emissions to becoming a central part of the solution to the global-warming crisis.
April has served as an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico & the University of Texas, at Austin where she has instructed undergraduate and advanced studios in architecture & sustainable design. Staying active in the community, April currently teaches an Undergraduate Design Studios focused in sustainability at the University Of Texas School Of Architecture.
In a desire to focus solely on sustainable projects, April launched Clark | Richardson Architects in 2009.

Edward Emile Richardson is a licensed architect (NM, AL) and principal at Clark | Richardson Architects in Austin, TX. His practice, founded with partner April Clark, is focused around contemporary sustainable commercial and residential design and has active projects across the South and Southwest.
Ed is a native of New Orleans and has practiced architecture in Louisiana, Massachusetts, New Mexico and Texas. He studied architecture at both Yale University, where he was awarded both the Blanning Prize and the Parsons Memorial Medal, and the University of Virginia and has taught both undergraduate and advanced studios at the University of Texas and University of New Mexico. He edited the 39th edition of Perspecta, the Yale Architecture Journal, titled Re_Urbanism (MIT, 2007) which investigates the transformation of capital cities in the era of globalization. He has also contributed articles to MONU, Texas Architect and MasContext and was a participant in AIA DesCours 2010 in New Orleans.
