DESIGN+BUILD: tres birds workshop
COMPLETEION: MAY 2010
The sun is infinite. The sun informed all of our architectural and building decisions on this new family home. We utilized computer generated energy modeling as a design tool. The form, materials, and systems are ruled by the sun. This home will make as much energy as it consumes through the use of solar thermal heating, photovoltaic on-site energy production, R-9 fiberglass windows, and highly insulated mass walls. The structure is a reclaimed steel main frame with bricks reclaimed from Denver’s finest demolished buildings. Finish materials include high school bleacher wood, beetle kill pine, and a remarkable rosewood column. Sweet clients get sweet projects.
