Winner of the 2007 AIA DESIGN AWARD
Hidden from the road and difficult to access in a sensitive way, we followed an arroyo to a flat spot, but we couldn't see out. So we went up and found an anchoring place against massive rocks for pool, patio, kitchen and great room and grew the rest of the house eastward out over the desert toward protected saguaros, above garages and storage and finally cantilevered the bedroom volumes above the saguaro root systems.
