New construction of a studio / workshop space in a neighborhood that required a higher level of security than your typical backyard shed might. The design was meant to give off an air of impenetrability, but had to feel open and light when being used. The black steel cladding and the thin translucent windows hide the work and valuables inside, but the large doors on the north and skylights pull in natural light and allow for the work to spill out into the yard when needed.
