schola is based on the exchange of ideas. Our projects are a synthesis of location, client interaction and our design input. Schola is a Latin term meaning school: a place where no one is leading the discussion, but each individual is teacher and student at the same time. This is the type of design atmosphere we strive for with each project. The Result is a diverse architectural language that is directly affected by the specific participants of each design solution. Each project is an architectural partnership which has a dramatic effect on our underlying architectural focus to create built space of interaction, experience and connection to the world around us.
A native to Southern California, Andrew graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture from California Polytechnic University of Pomona, and has been a registered architect since 1997. Upon graduation, Andrew began working in Laguna Beach with Mark H. Singer, and Associates. In 1996, looking to broaden his scope of knowledge and building types, Andrew went to work at LPA, Inc. in Irvine. In 2000 Andrew formed his own architectural studio, schola. To date he has had the pleasure of working on a variety of project scales and seeing the results of his ideas realized. His work has been recognized through publications and exhibitions.
