This project involves a house and a derelict barn which sits behind the main house on a lovely site in Eureka Valley. Group 41 was retained to assist the owners in the extremely complicated Planning approvals process to legalize the barn as a single family dwelling. Since it is an illegal structure by the current planning code, the approvals procedure alone required nearly two years. The design of the barn incorporates wide plank flooring and sliding doors reminiscent of barn design, as well as the board and batten siding and windows that reflect the exact style of the original structure as required by the Planning Commission.
