Martinkovic Milford Architects Bryant Street Loft

Martinkovic Milford Architects — Bryant Street Loft

Description

This converted warehouse loft with weathered heavy timber beams and brick walls suffered from a lack of privacy and storage. Addressing both needs in one stroke, Martinkovic Milford created a ribbon of wood cabinetry, offering storage while carving out distinct public and private spaces. Private spaces are defined by a collage of light textured wood panels, while public kitchen and entry areas are identified with dark wood. Pale bedroom marquetry is peeled away to create a desk area faced in the contrasting dark wood of the kitchen. Overall storage has been maximized with every wall concealing custom storage space. Cutaways in the walls allow light to penetrate and permit glimpses into the contrasting color themes.
