Hufft Projects

Curved House by Hufft Projects is organized as a U-shaped residence framing a private courtyard. The house is designed to create an enclosed outdoor space that accommodates a pool and a custom fire pit, with one side dedicated to the master suite and the opposite wing containing living spaces, a pool cabana, and views over an adjacent creek. A distinct masonry wall, which curves at the main entrance and again along the edge of the pool cabana, defines the house’s approach and boundaries. The material selection includes brick, Spanish roof tiles, Ipe, and Western Red Cedar, introducing a varied texture both externally and internally. The house incorporates energy efficiency measures such as a photovoltaic panel array on the cabana roof, a geothermal system, and radiant floor heating. Natural light and outward views are prioritized in each room, in accordance with the client’s interest in sustainable design.
