The studio

At Gettliffe Architecture, our multicultural team of architects specializes in sustainable designs that foster positive human interaction and a closer connection with nature. For over 30 years we have collaborated with clients locally and across the globe to bring creativity and inspiration to the design process – all within a context of social and ecological responsibility.

Based in Boulder, Colorado, we offer sustainable architectural design from private residences to eco lodges and community projects. Our current projects include a local, sustainable organic farm, a passive solar straw bale getaway in the mountains of Southern Colorado, and a community center for climate change in Nicaragua.

Getting started with Gettliffe Architecture

What to expect when you contact an architect — general guidance from Architects List.

The first conversation
Most residential architects start with a short call or meeting to hear about your project and see whether it’s a good fit for both of you.
What to have ready
Where the project is, roughly what you’d like to build, and a budget and timing if you know them. A few photos of work you like help too. “Not sure yet” is a fine answer.
Fees
How fees work varies by firm. Some first meetings are free; some firms charge for a site visit or feasibility study. It’s fine to ask Gettliffe Architecture directly.
