Harvester

Harvester is a one-story, 4,500 square foot residence in Malibu, California, built to replace a home lost in the 2018 Woolsey Fire. The design answers the request for a fire rebuild with a minimalistic approach, emphasizing simplicity in form and material palette. The exterior features a monochromatic white surface highlighted by narrow vertical strips of bleached natural wood siding. Minimal pitched roofs create visual clarity from the street, while the interior reveals exposed wood trusses and high ceilings for dramatic spatial effect. A straightforward open plan arranges the living areas around a central courtyard, which includes an infinity lap pool and frames views toward the ocean.
