Mountain Cabin

Mountain Cabin by Walker Warner Architects is situated on a site with prominent landscape views. The brief called for a modest structure that would engage with the surroundings while minimizing its presence on the terrain. The design emphasizes compact indoor spaces to encourage outdoor living and interaction with the natural context. A timber frame construction was chosen in response to the region's brief building season and in recognition of local mining cabins and barns. Reclaimed wood was incorporated for both environmental considerations and visual continuity with historic vernacular structures. The realization of the cabin involved collaboration with artisans to achieve craft-focused details throughout the project.
