Acorn Acres

Acorn Acres is a modern residence designed by Calico Studio on Smith Level Road in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Conceived as the architect’s own family home, the project responds to both environmental concerns and the specifics of the site, aiming to integrate the building with its landscape while supporting the daily needs of its occupants. The design emphasizes thoughtful placement and orientation to engage natural light throughout the interiors. The building form, material selection, and spatial arrangement reflect an intent to harmonize with the land, supporting a comfortable and practical domestic environment. Collaboration with the contractor was integral in bringing the design vision to completion.
