Bronze and Black House, completed by SPF:architects in Los Angeles in 2025, occupies a hillside parcel defined by two cul-de-sac streets. The brief and site constraints led to a linear organizational strategy, with a north-running axis connecting the street ends and establishing the plan's geometry. This approach creates a direct relationship between the building and its topography, enhancing both access and circulation across the site.
The project comprises a two-story main house paired with a single-story studio or guest house, each positioned slightly offset along the shared spine. This arrangement allows movement between both ends of the property, offering access routes that accommodate daily use as well as required fire and emergency services. The layout and minimal contemporary detailing express clarity and restraint, consistent with the overall modern aesthetic.
