Catskill Creek Addition in Catskill, New York, is a 690-square-foot master suite added to an existing residence near the creek. The brief centered on creating a new private space while responding to the site's natural setting along the water. The design uses volumes influenced by the gray river rock and the shifting quality of light at the creek’s edge. Special glass installed on the east and south facades draws daylight into the addition and creates a dynamic interplay of reflections within the space. Inside, the material palette is all wood, lending warmth and continuity while emphasizing the surrounding landscape. The approach blends contemporary and Nordic-inspired sensibilities to enhance both privacy and connection to the site.
