Tide House

Tide House, completed by CMSA Architects in 2024, is a compact waterfront outbuilding designed to accommodate both everyday activities and quiet retreat. Sited along the water's edge, the project responds to its coastal setting by prioritizing direct dock access and an elevated construction approach. Its program is intended as a flexible companion space, supplementing the main residence while maintaining visual and physical ties to the shoreline. The design organizes efficient, multifunctional interior spaces that benefit from abundant daylight and carefully controlled views. Large glazed openings orient the rooms toward the water, offering outlooks while preserving privacy. The interior palette consists of soft coastal colors and exposed ceiling structure, emphasizing the building’s contemporary character. Durable materials and detailing further respond to environmental conditions, supporting the building’s ongoing use for work, relaxation, and occasional entertaining.
