Amagansett House

Amagansett House is a three-story vacation residence completed in 2021 by Hacin in Amagansett, New York. Set within over two acres of undeveloped woodland and located near the ocean, the project was designed as a 7,000-square-foot retreat for its owners. The brief evolved after earlier work with two local architects led the clients to seek a new approach that balanced traditional and contemporary influences. Interiors were handled by the owner. The final design adopts the contemporary Dutch gambrel form, drawing from local vernacular elements while avoiding strict historic replication or overt minimalism. The residence accommodates six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, along with a two-car garage, an in-ground pool, and a pool house. The arrangement separates private and public zones, supporting the client’s interest in entertaining guests and providing dedicated spaces for gathering and retreat. Construction and engineering consultants contributed to the project's technical execution.
