HOLLYWOOD RESIDENCE

Hollywood Residence by Horst Architects is a modern home set on the slopes of the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles. The project was designed to frame expansive views across the city and toward the ocean, with the positioning and lateral layout of the house allowing each room to capture the landscape. The client's interests in art and film shaped the program, which includes spaces for entertainment and display throughout the large residence. A primary design move involves the use of custom retractable glass doors that connect living interiors directly with the outdoors beneath a cantilevered roof section. Key spaces in the home include a gourmet kitchen, a glass-enclosed wine tower, a home theater designed for sixteen viewers, and a dedicated game room. Multiple guest suites and a large garage meet requirements for hosting and car storage, while finishes and detailing are kept consistent with a modern aesthetic throughout.
