SANTA MONICA PAVILION

SANTA MONICA PAVILION is a 1,500-square-foot modern studio and work space, completed in 2013 by JENDRETZKI LLC in New York, NY. Designed for a Los Angeles-based filmmaker family with an affinity for Scandinavian design, the project supplements an existing mid-century residence. The brief called for a tranquil studio environment and flexible living space, responding to the clients’ creative and personal routines. The pavilion features a restrained palette of light-toned wood and glass, enhancing daylight and fostering a calm atmosphere within. Board-and-batten siding, steel accents, and expansive glazing characterize the exterior, mediating between privacy and openness. Interior spaces are organized to encourage focus and connection, while the neutral finishes support an unobtrusive backdrop for both work and domestic life.
