Camp Pretty Bird

Camp Pretty Bird is a residential project by Pearson Design Group located on North Broadway Avenue in Bozeman, Montana. The brief called for a modern residence that responds to its Montana context while accommodating contemporary patterns of living. The design was shaped by the desire to balance openness for family life with discrete spaces for privacy, all set within a landscape defined by the region's characteristic climate and scenery. The house combines modern and rustic modern architectural cues, incorporating reclaimed timber and natural materials assembled in a precise, contemporary manner. Spaces are organized to facilitate movement between communal and private areas, and visual connections are established between interior rooms and the outdoors. The use of regional materials grounds the design in its northern Rocky Mountain setting, while large windows and carefully framed openings ensure a continual engagement with the landscape throughout the home.
