Morning Star Residence, designed by Poss Architecture + Planning, is a contemporary home located in Deer Valley, Utah. The project responds to its sloping site with a series of staggered stone pavilions set along the ridge, organizing the private living spaces. A central glass pavilion serves as the hub for public functions, featuring movable glass walls that allow the interior to open directly onto the surrounding landscape.
The design emphasizes flow and clarity, employing a coordinated material palette that continues from exterior to interior. Materials were chosen in collaboration with WRJ to reinforce a sense of seamlessness and immersion in the natural setting. The home's architecture is defined by precise layering, yet maintains a focus on the mountain environment, with elements such as a pool that reflects the reservoir and sky, integrating the shifting landscape with the daily experience of the residence.
