The Design of the Leavenworth Cabin is in direct response to the desire to have as little visual impact on it's surroundings as possible. The site, once a grazing pasture, is the last of the large parcels of underdeveloped property fronting the East Leavenworth Rd. As such there is no development along this one mile stretch of road. With development pressure on the either sides of the property and along the ridge above, the clients and architects shared the common desire to have the home recede and allow the natural beauty of the field to remain intact.
