Soldier Field House

Soldier Field House is a townhouse renovation in Chicago, completed by Collective Office in 2021. The project began with an outdated residence at the base of a high-rise, whose original layout suffered from disjointed interiors and awkward soffits. The brief called for a more intuitive and minimalist living environment that aligned with the client’s routines and preferences for clarity and order. The redesign focused on internal restructuring, with wall realignments and extensive integrated millwork to achieve seamless transitions between spaces and eliminate protrusions. The kitchen and living areas on the first floor are articulated through custom millwork and furnishing, maintaining open flow while defining each zone. Materials such as white oak chevron flooring, full-height marble, and exposed concrete shear walls contribute both warmth and texture across the four levels. Re-worked circulation includes a stair wrapping an exposed concrete wall, and bathrooms feature streamlined fixtures, curbless showers, and custom vanities. Thoughtful spatial sequencing and careful selection of finishes underscore the project's aim to enrich everyday experience while maintaining visual restraint.
