The building is embedded in the hillside, allowing the principal rooms to orient diagonally toward the lake vistas.
The design places the daylight basement on the lower side of the lot, providing direct access to a broad lawn that extends across the property. A detached garage is configured in response to the site's topography, offering parking across two levels. The architectural character blends elements of modern and traditional farmhouse design, using a restrained approach to form and detailing.
