Whidbey Beach House is a modern beachfront residence designed by erich remash architect on a small lot in Whidbey Beach, Washington. The project was conceived as a family retreat for two households, with the compact site and proximity to the Puget Sound shaping both layout and orientation. The house is sited to maximize views and accommodate gatherings while remaining durable in the coastal climate. The structure features an industrial character, marked by a box-like form and Corten steel siding, which weathers over time to withstand the local environment. With high ceilings and extensive glazing throughout, each level offers unobstructed views of the water. The plan arranges symmetrical master suites on the upper floor and children's suites below, all facing Puget Sound. The main living space connects seamlessly to a beachside terrace, supporting large gatherings and outdoor access. On the entry facade, a series of slender windows introduces a playful element and brings varying light qualities to the interiors, balancing the rigid geometry of the exterior.
