Casa Loma by F+E Architects is a single-family residence in Lakewood Hills, organized around a central courtyard that preserves a mature tree. This configuration allows the architecture to maintain a close relationship with nature while ensuring privacy through its elevated position above the street. The layout includes a double-height living room, an intimate reading nook, and intentional framing of views to balance openness with cozy retreat spaces. The material palette features dark brick, cementitious panels, and warm wood, which establish a restrained exterior character. Brick is carried from outside to inside, visually linking the façade with the interior spaces. Expansive glazing introduces abundant daylight throughout the home and enhances the sense of connection between the courtyard, living areas, and the natural surroundings.
