Casa Loma II

Casa Loma II is a renovation and expansion of a single-story house by F+E Architects, resulting in a two-story family residence. The project retained aspects of the original structure, including brickwork and exterior openings, to incorporate the home’s previous character into the updated design. The reconfigured entry sequence, featuring a front porch and pathway, strengthens the connection to mature trees on the site. Internally, the ground floor contains two main living spaces. One of these opens directly to the backyard through generous sliding doors, while the other is situated upstairs, oriented to overlook the level below and maintain visual connection. The addition of a new master suite on the upper floor allows broad views over the backyard and surrounding trees, fostering a daily relationship with the landscape and anchoring the house within its established environment.
