Riverview

Riverview is a comprehensive renovation and expansion of a single-story brick residence in Dallas, Texas, originally built in the 1980s. Eckxstudio reworked the original structure, increasing the home’s footprint to over 5,000 square feet and introducing a second story. A former angular front porch was enclosed to create a new entrance, anchored by a custom-designed staircase, forming a clear transition into the updated home. The project focused on both aesthetic and performance upgrades. Industry-standard porcelain tile and custom walnut cabinetry are used throughout the interiors, setting a modern tone. Energy efficiency and comfort were addressed through new windows, doors, insulation, and a high-quality HVAC system. The project also introduced a specialized AeroBarrier air-sealing system, typically not seen in homes of this era, to significantly reduce air infiltration. These efforts combine to provide improved durability and interior environmental quality compared to the original construction.
