Artist Retreat
GLUCK+ — 2014
Completed in 2014, Artist Retreat is a contemporary residence and studio designed by GLUCK+ for a photographer and visiting guests. The project is sited to follow the topography and utilizes a series of cubes, each connected by glass hallways. The layout is organized in a shifting grid pattern, referencing the configuration of agricultural plots in the surrounding area. Each cubic volume is designed for independent temperature control, employing both mechanical and natural strategies to support energy efficiency and reduce demand during transitional weather. The minimalist architectural language is reinforced by the clarity of the forms and their spatial arrangement, providing both private and communal spaces suited to creative and residential use.
