HQ Architects — Cherry Hills Village

Living room in a transitional country remodel features a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and a built-in bookshelf painted blue.

HQ Architects led a comprehensive remodel of a residence in Cherry Hills Village originally shaped by the previous owners’ equestrian interests and a pronounced western theme. The project aimed to reinterpret the house for new owners with East Coast ties, blending subtle elements of New England sensibility with an emphasis on Colorado’s mountain views and outdoor living. The transformation included both extensive interior changes and refined spatial connections, such as a new butler’s pantry and wine room marking the transition between formal and informal spaces. The remodeled layout consolidates what were once multiple bedrooms and bathrooms into an expansive game room with vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and brick, amplifying the sense of openness and light. The main living areas maintain an open plan from the kitchen to the family room, while large windows capitalize on mountain and lawn vistas. The master suite and children’s wing were redesigned for improved proportions, balancing private retreat with spaces for creativity and play. Materials and detailing throughout prioritize natural light, views, and a cohesive sense of renewal.
