Strikingly clean and simple, this home nestles into an irregular site on the urban edge of one of Seattle’s iconic residential neighborhoods. The design celebrates building craft, natural materials, and organic planning uniting structure and landscape. A unique split level plan utilizes topography and creates a dynamic variety of interior volumes and exterior gardens and courtyards.  A collaborative endeavor with homeowner/designer Chris Chin of Vizit Studio—the design is inspired, in part, by tenets of twentieth century Danish Architecture as well as the concept of hygge, which ascribes a profound attention to human comfort.
