ALF Residence
SDH Studio Architecture + Design — Pinecrest, FL, 2020
ALF Residence is a 6,690-square-foot single-family house in Pinecrest, Florida, designed by SDH Studio Architecture + Design and completed in 2020. The brief called for a modern home that would maintain a sense of warmth and establish a strong connection to nature across the site. The design arranges the residence around the backyard, creating visual access to the landscape from nearly every interior space. Courtyards and gardens are integrated throughout, providing outdoor moments at multiple points within the house. Material selections such as Brazilian Ipe wood and Carrara marble were considered to further the connection between interior and exterior while lending texture and contrast to the modern composition.
