Lake Washington Blvd

Shugart Wasse — Seattle, 2007

Located on a triangular site this modern Pacific Northwest style home takes advantage of the views and adjacency to Lake Washington. The clients wanted fresh, contemporary spaces in a palate of natural materials – stone, wood, copper, glass and concrete. The unusual layout of the site demanded an L-shaped house. A series of post and beams and concrete fins define the space and are oriented toward the views. The stone chimney soars through the house and acts as the anchor around which the home pivots.
