Lake Washington Blvd

Lake Washington Blvd is a residence in Seattle completed by Shugart Wasse in 2007. Positioned on a triangular plot adjacent to the lake, the project was shaped by the challenge of the site's geometry and the client's brief for contemporary interiors with a natural materials palette. The resulting L-shaped plan responds to the atypical site and orients primary living spaces toward views of Lake Washington. Structural elements including exposed post and beam framing and concrete fins help define zones within the home while directing attention outward. Materials such as stone, wood, copper, glass, and concrete are used throughout, with a prominent stone chimney providing an organizing element both visually and structurally at the core of the house.
