Janoura Residence

Janoura Residence is a private home in Miami Beach, Florida, designed by STRANG Architecture. Commissioned for a site shaped by South Florida’s coastal climate and urban context, the project sought to balance privacy with views, providing a tranquil retreat while remaining responsive to the region’s distinct environmental conditions. The location’s prevalence of sunlight, proximity to water, and exposure to tropical weather influenced both form and function from the early design stages. The house’s layout prioritizes clear separations between public and private zones, with living areas oriented to maximize natural light and ventilation. Deep overhangs, shaded terraces, and carefully placed glazing address the subtropical sun and provide protection from storms. Materials were selected for their performance and resonance with the local environment, with the palette drawing from both modernist influences and regional building traditions. The architectural language of the residence reflects STRANG’s approach to Environmental Modernism, with clean lines, restrained detailing, and a continuous relationship between interior and exterior spaces.
