Winghouse, designed by Studio Peek Ancona, is set in Indiana as a modern residence defined by its pure white steel framework and confident cantilevered presence. Addressing a site with both street and beach frontage, the house presents a reserved façade to the street, while it projects outward over the sand on intermittent concrete fins. This distinctive position allows the central living space to extend beneath a concealed fifty-foot beam, enabling floor-to-ceiling retractable glass walls that open directly onto the garden and swimming pool. Inside, the interplay of materials is expressed through a combination of smooth concrete and textured stone. A curved concrete wall acts as a backdrop for a steel and stone stair, which appears to cantilever into the space. Daylight enters from above, casting shifting patterns across the surfaces and enhancing the spatial connection between indoors and outdoors.
