tresARCA is a contemporary residence by Assemblage Studio, developed in response to the Mojave Desert context. Eschewing the ornament typically associated with Las Vegas, the project prioritizes restrained forms and a direct engagement with its environment. The design separates the program into distinct volumes, which frame a series of protected courtyards, allowing for cross circulation and continuous movement between inside and out. Indirect natural light is introduced deep into the plan through the articulation of these forms and strategic placement of openings. Rather than confining living to the interior, the house incorporates shaded outdoor courts as integral living spaces, offering shelter from the desert climate and blurring the traditional boundaries between indoors and outdoors. Material selections reinforce this minimal approach, drawing from the textures and tones of the Mojave to create a calm, enduring presence in its setting.
