Manzanita Bay House

Completed in 1930, the Manzanita Bay House stands on Bainbridge Island as a traditionally styled residence. Originally constructed in the Norman style, the house underwent extensive remodeling and expansion by BC&J Architects. The scope included not only a full interior demolition but also the addition of a new master bedroom and bathroom pavilion at the main level, responding to modern living requirements while respecting the historic structure. The renovation introduced all-new finishes inside while carefully preserving the existing exterior forms and architectural massing. Attention was given throughout the process to ensure the remodeled spaces reflected the house’s historical character and longstanding presence along Manzanita Bay, integrating updates without compromising its traditional lineage.
