Geyserville Residence

The Geyserville Residence is a 3,200-square-foot remodel by Min Design completed in 2019 in Geyserville, California. Set on a five-acre site, the project involved transforming a vintage 1970s house through a collaborative approach with the owner. The scope included addressing deferred maintenance and completely reconfiguring both the interior layout and building envelope. Particular focus was given to improving circulation, with the interior stair reversed to enhance the entry sequence. All windows and doors were replaced or repositioned to update the building's performance and connection to the outdoors. The exterior aesthetic shifted from weathered cedar shingles to fire-resistant metal siding, reflecting a rustic modern approach suited to the region’s climate concerns. At the master bedroom, existing wood walls received a black stain, introducing contrast while retaining original character. The surrounding grounds were re-graded, resulting in new seating and play areas that extend the living spaces into the landscape.
