VANDERBILT RESIDENCE

The Vanderbilt Residence is a 5,500-square-foot house designed by Studio Park Architecture in Dallas, Texas. The project responds to a desire for simplicity and a strong relationship with the surrounding landscape, shaping the house with understated geometry and a muted exterior palette. Collaborating with Greer Interior Design and Chad Dorsey Design as consultants, the design team developed a home that prioritizes both spatial clarity and environmental context. The building features clean lines and restrained massing, with the exterior clad in carefully selected wood siding. This choice creates dynamic shadow patterns across the façade as daylight conditions change, lending visual interest and a tactile quality to the architecture. The wood serves a dual role, enhancing the dwelling’s presence while contributing to sustainability goals as a renewable material. The interplay between natural surfaces and minimalist form defines the character of the Vanderbilt Residence.
