Puma Run is a residence sited at the end of a mountain road, built into a south-facing slope. The project responds to its hillside location with a compact footprint and a simple steel-clad volume shaped for views. The siting and orientation take advantage of changing light and distant vistas, while the plan addresses exposure to the prevailing wind and the drama of its mountain setting. The design uses a straightforward palette of plaster walls, hand-made wall tiles, and walnut cabinetry, chosen for their interplay with modern artworks and the surrounding landscape. Spaces are closely linked to foster a sense of openness beyond the home's actual size. An entry porch provides shelter and frames distant views, leading into a two-story living space that amplifies daylight and spatial volume. The house is organized to maximize visual connection to nature and the site's panoramic outlooks.
