Open Claim Vineyards is a farmhouse modern residence and winery sited in Oregon, designed by Emerick Architects. The project was shaped by a brief to create a home that also functions as a setting for intimate wine tasting, drawing on the agrarian heritage of the area and referencing traditional Oregon barns. A 1,000-square-foot tasting room is at the core of the plan, structured with exposed timber trusses and anchored by a wood-burning fireplace and plastered chimney. Large glass doors connect the interior to an outdoor patio and open the space for events of up to 60 guests. Throughout the residence, the palette is comprised of materials that echo the site's natural context, supporting a restrained and enduring character.
