Marmont Residence is a custom home situated in the Hollywood Hills, designed by Space International Inc. The steep hillside site presented a combination of sweeping city views and surrounding canyon landscape, guiding the home's organization and orientation. The brief called for a dwelling that could navigate the interplay between urban panorama and the adjacent wilderness. The design responds by elevating the primary structure above the sloping terrain, allowing a new second story to emerge as a switchback volume containing the media room and master suite. These upper elements project over the main living, dining, and kitchen areas, all of which open directly onto a pool terrace. This terrace acts as a transitional space that integrates the interior with its immediate outdoor environment, highlighting the residence’s engagement with both cultivated and natural features.
