Noanet Woods Modern

Noanet Woods Modern is a residence completed in 2024 by Flavin Architects on a wooded, sloping site in Dover, Massachusetts. The house is positioned at the center of the property, screened from the nearby suburban road by tall pines. Accessed via a curving driveway, the structure stands on a base of board-formed concrete, its texture referencing the surrounding forest. The north elevation remains largely opaque for privacy, punctuated by select windows, while mahogany screens, vertical battens, and an extended canopy articulate the façade and bring visitors to the entry, set at the junction of two distinct wings. Entry occurs at the lower level, which houses guest quarters, media and fitness rooms, and garage parking. Daylight from above draws movement to the main floor, which is organized around a planted courtyard, described by the client as a "curated courtyard." The primary living spaces and main bedroom feature extensive glazing facing this garden, creating visual and spatial connections with the landscape. The collaborative team included specialists in interiors, engineering, and landscape design.
