Seaside Clubhouse

Seaside Clubhouse in Hingham, Massachusetts, is a residential project completed in 2025 by LDa Architecture & Interiors. Transforming what was once a basic backyard with a small pool and detached garage, the design team re-envisioned the site as a cohesive family campus. The brief called for a multifunctional environment supporting recreation, entertaining, wellness, and family activities throughout the year, prompting the creation of a private 'clubhouse' that acts as an extension of the existing home. A two-story clubhouse with a full basement now anchors the property, replacing the former garage. The main level integrates indoor and outdoor living, with folding glass walls connecting shared spaces—a wet bar, ping-pong area, and basketball court—to the pool and landscaped gardens. The upper floor contains a TV lounge and home office overlooking the grounds. Excavation allowed for a lower-level recreation area centered on a golf simulator, supplemented by interactive games and flexible zones for various activities. Outdoor improvements include raised garden beds, a pergola, redesigned pool, and dedicated storage in a new gatehouse, with careful landscape interventions providing additional parking and EV charging without disrupting the property’s cohesion. Distinct materials and careful detailing unify the contemporary clubhouse and landscape features with the existing traditional house.
