Salten Point is a 6,000-square-foot residence in Barnstable, Massachusetts, designed for a young family as a vacation retreat. The house addresses its unique site by orienting primary living spaces toward views of Black Bank Channel and Cape Cod Bay, while its street-facing elevation maintains a traditional profile in keeping with the neighborhood context. The design incorporates classic New England elements including gambrel rooflines, shiplap walls, and traditional detailing, balanced by contemporary furnishings and lighting. Private areas are grouped on the upper floor, with the primary suite oriented to capture backyard and water views. Children’s quarters adopt a bunkhouse arrangement with custom built-ins. At the rear, a spacious pool deck creates a connection between the main house, landscaping, and a guest suite above the garage. The kitchen features large folding windows that open to the pool area and an outdoor bar, encouraging easy transitions between indoor and outdoor living spaces.
