Kessler

Kessler is a 3,500-square-foot residence located in Kessler Park, Dallas, Texas, completed by RGD+B in 2018. The project involved reimagining a 1950s split-level house set on a wooded site near the city center, with the brief focusing on strengthening the connection between the home and its natural surroundings. The design incorporates expansive glazing and broad proportions, allowing natural light and external views to shape the interior experience. A cantilevered volume overlooks a reflecting pool, enhancing the relationship between the house and the landscape. The entry sequence and framed sightlines throughout the house create a progression of perspectives, supporting a continual visual dialogue with the wooded property. Landscape architect David Rolston contributed to the integration of outdoor elements, further grounding the residence within its setting.
