Lightroom — Atlanta, GA

The By Way House features a modern outdoor patio with a fireplace and mixed wood and stucco facades at dusk.

By Way House is a single-family residence in Atlanta, Georgia designed by Lightroom. The project responds to a wooded site by establishing visual connections to nature while maintaining privacy and functional living areas. The brief called for a contemporary home that balances openness with a sense of retreat. The design features modern, midcentury-inspired forms with clean lines and a mix of wood paneling and smooth stucco. Expansive windows maximize daylight and frame views of the forested surroundings, blurring the line between inside and out. The interior prioritizes an open, airy layout; high ceilings and neutral surfaces are complemented by wood accents that add warmth. Outdoor living is organized around a spacious patio with a built-in fireplace, further extending the living space into the landscape.
