Black and White House

Cost out a project like this

DAVIS URBAN — Sloan’s Lake Denver, CO

The Black and White House features black standing seam metal roofing and large floor-to-ceiling glazing on its front facade.

Black and White House is a 3,500-square-foot renovation and expansion of a 1960s brick ranch, located in the Sloan’s Lake neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. The project involved updating the existing structure while introducing new elements that respond to both the immediate residential context and local views toward the lake and mountains. The design establishes a clear visual identity with dark metal siding, reclaimed brick, and custom steel windows and doors. Key interventions include a two-story open kitchen and dining area, as well as the addition of an upper level study, both oriented to maximize outward views. The architectural approach emphasizes direct connections between indoor and outdoor spaces while maintaining a measured presence within its established neighborhood.
