Vista Drive Pavilion features a modern black wood exterior with large windows and concrete elements set within landscaped greenery.

Vista Drive Pavilion is a modern residence in Boulder, Colorado, designed by Piché Architecture. The brief called for a home that would engage the nearby foothills and neighborhood, drawing inspiration from artist Robert Kelly's exploration of form and contrast. The project considers the interplay between solid and void, light and shadow, and degrees of transparency to create varying spatial experiences on the site. The house is defined by a black, trapezoidal form topped with a sharply detailed metal roof. This strong geometric volume shapes the internal organization, with ceilings that follow the rooflines and generate spatial shifts from compressed, intimate areas to expansive living spaces. The interiors use a restrained palette: white walls and white oak flooring contribute to a calm, daylight-rich atmosphere and highlight the structural clarity and craftsmanship. The design seeks to foster a clear relationship with both the immediate landscape and the broader Boulder context.
